Forankra Group Acquires Majority Stake in Ekofol to Strengthen Position in Central and Eastern Europe

Forankra Group, part of Axel Johnson International’s Transport Solutions business group, has acquired a majority stake in Ekofol, a leading Czech provider of cargo securing and packaging solutions. The acquisition strengthens Forankra Group’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe and supports its strategy to expand its offering within cargo securing and one-way securing solutions.

Founded in 1991 and headquartered in the Czech Republic, Ekofol has developed into a well-established supplier of cargo securing and packaging solutions serving customers primarily in the Czech and Slovak markets. The company offers a broad range of standard lashing and one-way securing (OWS) products, complemented by customized packaging solutions and value-added services tailored to customer needs. Ekofol employs a team of nine highly competent and experienced professionals whose expertise enables the company to deliver reliable solutions and a high level of customer service.

Through long-standing customer relationships, a strong supplier network and a solution-oriented approach, Ekofol has built a strong market position across a diversified customer base spanning transportation, logistics and industrial segments.

The acquisition represents a strong strategic fit for Forankra Group. Ekofol’s market position and expertise within cargo securing and OWS solutions complement Forankra’s existing operations in Central and Eastern Europe and create opportunities to broaden the customer offering across the region.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ekofol to the Forankra family. The company has built an impressive position in its markets through strong customer relationships, technical expertise and an entrepreneurial culture that aligns well with our own values. Together, we see significant opportunities to continue developing the business and strengthening our presence in Central and Eastern Europe,” says Maciej Nowoswiecki, Managing Director of Forankra Poland Group.

As part of the transaction, Ekofol will become a part of the Forankra Poland Group, which also includes operations in Bulgaria. The company will continue to operate under its established brand and management team, ensuring continuity for customers, employees and business partners.

“Joining Axel Johnson International and Forankra Group is a natural next step in developing Ekofol. We are proud of what we have built over more than three decades and look forward to accelerating our development together with a long-term owner and strategic partner, that shares our entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to customers. Becoming part of a larger international group will strengthen our ability to serve customers, develop our offering and create new opportunities for our employees,” says Ondřej Pernica, Managing Director of Ekofol.

The acquisition also provides a platform for further regional growth through enhanced market coverage, expanded product offerings and closer collaboration across Forankra Group’s European operations. The transaction reflects Axel Johnson International’s strategy to grow through acquisitions and develop companies with strong market positions, supported by a decentralized structure and a long-term ownership approach.
