These rare casks, which once held powerful Italian red wines, now impart their soul to a whisky of remarkable depth. The result? A whisky that sings with ripe cherries, honeyed figs, and candied orange zest, wrapped in subtle notes of violet and toasted oak. A symphony of Highland character and Mediterranean warmth – complex, seductive, and unmistakably Aberfeldy.

After maturing in traditional refill and hogshead casks, the whisky gains its final character through a finish in first-fill Sangiovese wine casks from Tuscany. This method gives the whisky a rich and fruity profile that complements Aberfeldy’s signature notes of heather honey.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich cherries, red plums, candied orange zest, honeyed figs, violet, clove, and vanilla.
Palate: Fruit compote, dark chocolate, clove, roasted hazelnuts, and heather honey.
Finish: Gentle spice with notes of oak and cherry liqueur. Long, fruity, and elegant.
