Swedish Fashion Now – Beckmans College of Design Stockholm at Paris Fashion Week

Beckmans College of Design Stockholm presents nine emerging designers together with two innovative fashion brands created by alumni of the college at Paris Fashion Week SS20.

A showroom at the Institut suédois, Hôtel de Marle in Marais will provide the platform for examining the graduation collection as well as reviewing the designers' portfolios.

Nine graduation collections and two fashion brands by alumni

The graduation collections now coming to Paris Fashion Week were first shown in a fashion show at the Tessin Palace in Stockholm in May. Since then, the collections have been seen in fashion reports and on Swedish performers. The designers have been awarded grants from the Swedish Fashion Council, H&M and Lindex, among others. Designer Fo Phan was also recently noticed by Vogue Italia when he, as the only one from Sweden, was selected as one of Vogue Talents 2019.

When working with the graduation collections, the students have undertaken a complete design process and explored their approach as designers; from research and formulation of a concept to the actual making of the garments that illustrate what they want to say as creators and how they want to contribute to the fashion scene.

In addition to the Beckmans College of Design graduates' collections, alumni Josephine Bergqvist and Livia Schück/Rave Review and Per Götesson/Per Gotesson present their SS20 collections. Rave Review, a high-end fashion brand, focusing on up cycling and re-make, was launched at Paris Fashion Week two years ago and was awarded with Elle New Comer of the Year previously this year. Per Götesson has successfully created his own brand with both innovative and wearable collections, participating at both MAN London and the London Showroom in Paris following his Masters' degree from the Royal College of Art Menswear in London.

Showroom at the Institut suédois

Between September 27-29 we will show the collections in a showroom at the Institut suédois, 11 rue Elzevir, Paris 3ème. There you can meet the designers, have a closer look at their collections and review their portfolios.

Program Saturday evening, September 28th:
5–9 PM Showroom, meet the designers, music and drinks on the terrace, DJ Axel Häggblad (designer at Céline) and Gabriella Ekman/Håll käften och dansa
6 PM Talk on the terrace, Charline Hallebard interviews the designer’s about their collections.
