Belos Watches - Introducing Huvudskär Automatic 40
The Swedish watch brand Belos Watches is about to launch their second collection with a Kickstarter campaign. The new collection, Huvudskär Automatic 40, will be launched on October 23, 09:00 CEST where all Kickstarter backers will get a numbered, first edition Huvudskär Automatic 40.
Belos Watches focuses on Swedish design combined with technical perfection - exquisite watchmaking of self-winding clockworks. The perfect balance between engineering and style. The quality and design contain elements mostly seen on watches in high-end segment and even though the watches feature a self-winding movement and look luxurious, they are affordable.
The new collection is inspired by the diving waters of Huvudskär where you'll find the diving wreck Fylgia at 58°57.83N 18°33.90E (coordinates which can be seen in the watch dial). The diver Huvudskär Automatic 40 is truly a diving watch with details such as 20ATM, superluminova lume and additional silicone strap.

- We have learned a lot since the first Kickstarter campaign which was a huge success considering we were both rookies in the watch industry! We have been working a lot to get better in every aspect. Both in marketing (photos, film and editing) and in distribution and pricing. We are super excited about our new diver and hope to raise at least 250,000SEK even though we are aiming a lot higher, says Andreas Johansson, co-founder.

The company
Magnus Dovenstam and Andreas Johansson founded Belos Watches from the idea of a self-winding automatic watch for every moment, every wallet, every season and for everyone. Everyone deserves looking great keeping track of the time!
It all started back in 2011 when Magnus Dovenstam and Andreas Johansson went to Utö, an amazing island just outside Stockholm. Magnus showed Andreas his new watch. Clean white dial, case of rose gold, brown leather strap and battery-driven quartz movement. The big thing missing was the smooth sliding second hand only able with an automatic clockwork. Right there, the brainstorming began and the poorly done napkin sketches finally, 5 years later, resulted in the first Belos collection Utö.
When Utö reached the market, the work of Huvudskär began where the founders wanted to create a Swedish diver with influences from the diving wreck Fylgia, located just outside of Huvudskär at 58°57.83N 18°33.90E. After months of sketching, designing and prototyping every single part of the watch, the second Belos collection is finally here!
The name Belos
Belos is an old venerable naval ship name in the Swedish army. Even today in our modern society, we have a naval ship named HMS Belos. HMS Belos is Swedens largest naval ship at the moment.
Belos is also nautical associated in Greek mythology where Belos was king of Egypt and the illegitimate son of Poseidon, god of the sea.
