Berghs CEO Camilla Wallander appointed to the D&AD Board of Trustees
The international design and creativity organisation D&AD is strengthening its board with new members, among them Camilla Wallander, CEO of Berghs School of Communication. Founded in London in 1962, D&AD has in recent years broadened its board to better reflect global creativity, bringing together leaders and creatives from different markets and cultures.
This year, three new board members have been appointed, including representatives from Oliver (a global creative agency specialising in in-house solutions), Design Bridge and Partners (a global brand and design agency combining strategy, design and creative craft), and Berghs School of Communication.
For more than 60 years, D&AD has set global benchmarks for creative quality, design and craft, and is behind some of the most respected international awards in the communications industry. The organisation is a non-profit charity that reinvests in the next generation through educational programmes, the Young Blood competition, and inspiring events for young creatives around the world.
“Driving the development of creativity has been central to my work, and I believe communication skills are more important than ever in shaping meaningful change. I'm excited to join D&AD as a trustee and contribute diverse perspectives to help shape its future,” says Camilla Wallander, CEO of Berghs.
As one of only a few Swedes over the years to serve on international boards connected to the creative industries, she looks forward to contributing to the shaping of future creative standards and to strengthening talent development on a global level.
“At a time of AI and rapid production, D&AD’s role as a compass for quality is more important than ever. They often reward strong work over strong case stories, which I believe is crucial to the long-term value of creativity. Being able to contribute to the organisation’s continued development—at the intersection of creativity, technology and responsibility—feels both important and inspiring.”
Camilla Wallander brings a future-focused, education-led perspective to the board, rooted in close collaboration with industry. Her work centres on developing creative talent, evolving skills and strengthening long-term creative capability for brands and agencies navigating rapid change. Camilla has been CEO of Berghs School of Communication since 2011.
