BERGHS IS THE BEST SCHOOL IN THE WORLD – HISTORIC TOP PLACEMENT IN YOUNG ONES
In this year’s edition of the international student competition Young Ones, Berghs has claimed the top spot in the global ranking and has thus been named the most creative school in the world – a historic achievement that solidifies Berghs’ position as a leader in creative communication and education. After several years in the top four, the school now claimed the top spot.
Young Ones is organized annually by The One Club for Creativity in New York and is considered one of the most prestigious competitions in the world for creative schools and students. The competition receives entries from hundreds of schools globally, with students competing with their strongest campaigns, concepts, and creative ideas. Over the years, Berghs has consistently placed amongst the top schools and won many awards and honors, but now the school strengthens its position even further with the title of “School of the Year.”
“It’s obviously a huge honor for us to climb to the very top of the podium this year and call ourselves the best in the world. The achievement is even more impressive considering we reached first place thanks to how our students performed in the client brief category, where the challenge is to solve real communication problems for real clients. The production level of many of the entries our students have competed against in this competition is immense, so it’s great to see that the power of truly good ideas is still going strong,” says Svante Ahlman, Program Director for the Art Director/Copywriter program at Berghs School of Communication.
“This is a historic win in one of the world’s most prestigious competitions for young creatives. We’re standing on the top of the podium – as the first European school ever to do so. This award is a tribute to our students, who consistently challenge norms, push boundaries, and create communication that makes a difference. It’s also proof that our pedagogical model and our teachers are truly top notch. We are incredibly proud and even more motivated to continue leading the way in creative communication,” says Camilla Wallander, CEO of Berghs School of Communication.
This year, 23 students from Berghs are in New York to receive 38 awards at Young Ones. Berghs collected nine Golds, 10 Silver, eight Bronze, nine Merits, and a Client Pitch win on the night.
One standout among this year’s award winners is Lucas Kronemyr, who was officially ranked #1 creative in the world in the Young Ones competition. With an impressive personal haul of three Golds, three Silvers, and two Bronzes, Lucas' work stood out across several campaigns including Philly Spots, Victories of the Past, and Ketch-up Meetings.

Three American schools have held the top spot since the college ranking began in 2018: School of Visual Arts (SVA), ArtCenter College of Design/Pasadena, and Brigham Young University/Provo (BYU). By comparison: SVA in New York educates the next generation of designers and creative professionals and has 7,000 students across 30 full-time programs. ArtCenter is a globally leading design school with over 2,000 students annually across 10 programs. This can be compared to Berghs’ 280 students across 10 programs.
