Canon Europe today announces PIXMA PRO-200, a fast, lightweight and compact A3+ colour printer – perfect for photography enthusiasts taking their first steps into the photo printing world. With its ability to print on a range of paper types of different textures and sizes, PIXMA PRO-200 can produce beautifully vibrant prints from a smartphone, tablet or desktop, allowing photographers to print with confidence.

This new printer, which replaces the PIXMA PRO-100S, prints up to A3+ and features an 8-ink dye-based system, providing photographers with exceptionally deep blacks and vibrant colours with every print. PIXMA PRO-200’s ability to print in as little as 90 seconds[i] allows users to enjoy a seamless workflow and instantly bring their snapshots to life. The printer’s large 3-inch display enables photographers to easily manage the print process with the simple interface. Users can also enjoy a range of printing options with PIXMA PRO-200, including printing with Canon’s Professional Print & Layout software – streamlining the process from shoot to print.

Bold colours, high-quality printing

Taking a major step up from its predecessor, PIXMA PRO-200 is a must-have for photographers wanting vivid, high-quality prints for a range of uses, including bringing photos to life, for gifts or even for arts and crafts. Canon has expanded its colour range with PIXMA PRO-200, boasting a new 8-ink dye-based system which produces beautifully toned photographs, superior in its colour vibrancy. The new A3+ printer showcases an enhanced colour gamut in three areas: red, blue and black – meaning photos are more eye-catching, even when printing A3+.

Print practically, work confidently

This incredibly lightweight printer weighing 14.1kg, and compared to its predecessor 15 per cent smaller, is the perfect desktop companion for a home or small studio. Convenient by nature, PIXMA PRO-200’s new built in 3-inch LCD display allows users to check their ink levels and other printer settings at a glance, whilst continuing to work effortlessly. As well as its management practicalities, the PIXMA PRO-200’s lightning fast printing enables photographers to produce high-quality images without having to compromise on time.

With complete software support, photographers can uniquely print images using the Canon Professional Print & Layout software, which comes free with PIXMA PRO-200. The software enables photographers to colour match their images from screen to print, for true to life images. PIXMA PRO-200 is also compatible with mobile connectivity and Wi-Fi, making printing from a range of devices easier than ever before. In addition to this, it features a paper skew correct function, which corrects the alignment of any paper - including fine art - to ensure a perfectly level print every time.

Take creative control

To ensure each print looks effortlessly professional, PIXMA PRO-200 is capable of edge to edge borderless printing on both fine art and glossy paper. PIXMA PRO-200 can also print on a wide range of paper sizes up to A3+, as well as custom lengths up to 39-inches, from Canon and other vendors. The ability to print on fine art, glossy, print media and Canon’s new Premium Fine Art Rough (FA-RG1) paper, increases each photographer’s artistic possibilities and allows them to push creative boundaries. With PIXMA PRO-200, users can even download ICC profiles from popular paper manufacturers, to take their printing to the next level. They can also download templates on the Creative Park website, for greeting cards and other forms of arts and crafts, opening a new set of creative doors for photographers. To help photographers realise their creative vision from photo capture to print, this versatile printer is compatible with a range of third party programmes including Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop through the Canon Professional Print & Layout plugin software.
