Sant Jordi 2022

23 April is Saint George’s Day (in Catalan, Sant Jordi) and also the UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day, when love and literature are celebrated massively throughout Catalonia and, more and more, in many other places around the world. People exchange #BooksAndRoses on this day as a sign of gratitude. In just one day, in Catalonia, more than 1.5 million books and 6 million roses are sold.

In case you can’t make it to Catalunya this year, the Catalan Community in Sweden has prepared some activities to enjoy #BooksAndRoses together like a literary walk focused on Astrid Lindgren through the center of Stockholm on Saturday 23rd from 15:00h to 17:00h. Meeting point: Rådmansgatan exit.

Also taking advantage of Kulturnatten in Stockholm during the whole weekend there will be the following events:

April 23rd: Världsbokdagen 2021- Vi firar som de i Katalonien

April 24th: Högläsning och sagostund på katalanska

Let’s make solidarity the greatest gift this Sant Jordi!
