Press release -

Challengermode is hosting the FIFA eClub World Cup 2019 Qualifiers

Marking Challengermode’s first major step into the console esports landscape, the company has been chosen by FIFA to organize the online qualifications for the upcoming FIFA eClub World Cup 2019 starting January 7th. Challengermode’s competitive gaming platform will be used to organize the tournament played in EA Game’s FIFA 19. Hundreds of professional esport football clubs will compete across several regions for the grand prize of $100,000 and the possibility of qualifying to the official eWorld Cup of 2019.

The best 15 teams to make it out of the FIFA eClub World Cup 2019 Qualifiers on Challengermode will join the defending champions Brøndby IF at the FIFA eClub World Cup 2019. Online qualifications are played on the 7th - 11th of January 2019 with the final of the FIFA eClub World Cup being played live on the 9th - 10th of February 2019.

Each team will compete with two players - one on Xbox and one on PlayStation. The format for the competition, enabled through Challengermode’s proprietary tournament system, has been designed to find the overall best teams across both platforms. Each round of the tournament will see teams consisting of one PlayStation player and one Xbox player compete against each other, with the winning team being the one that has the highest aggregate score across the two matches from both platforms.

"At Challengermode we’ve been longtime fans and players of the FIFA titles so we couldn’t be more excited to finally be afforded this opportunity. As with all the other game titles offered on Challengermode, we’re aiming to provide the best possible competitive gaming experience to the participants. In line with our mission of making esports more accessible to everyone, opening up the console market to esports and providing console games with the same tools that exist for PC games is a crucial step in the evolution and maturation of esports as a whole."
- Robel Efrem, CEO of Challengermode

Throughout 2019 Challengermode is intent on deepening its collaboration with FIFA and EA Games to expand and scale up FIFA19 as an esport across all relevant platforms, both at the grassroots and pro-levels.

Professional Tournament Organizers across Europe, the U.S and South America that are already hosting FIFA competitions or want to start are urged to contact Challengermode and apply to use the Challengermode FIFA tournament system.

With these and future competitions Challengermode aims to build a bridge between amateurs and professionals and provide a clear path to the top.
