Chalmers Ventures investerar i impactbolaget Ambidex - tar in över 5 miljoner kronor i ny runda
Chalmers Ventures, tillsammans med Almi Invest, följdinvesterar i impactbolaget Ambidex vars teknologi bygger på forskning från Chalmers tekniska högskola. Bolaget erbjuder innovativa lösningar för att stabilisera elnätet genom att använda befintliga kylsystem. Rundan landade på över 5 miljoner kronor. Nu expanderar bolaget och lanserar nya produkter.
Elnätets stabilitet och förnybar energi
Förnybara energikällor som vind- och solkraft är väderberoende och orsakar variationer i elproduktionen. Detta ställer krav på flexibla lösningar som kan balansera tillgång och efterfrågan på energi i elnätet. Ambidex teknologi bygger på över sju års forskning från Chalmers tekniska högskola. Lösningen använder befintliga kylsystem, som de i livsmedelsbutiker, för att justera kylsystemens energiförbrukning i realtid. Tekniken kan sedan balansera belastningen i elnätet utan att påverka kylsystemens funktion.
Fler kunder och lösning för spotpriser och nätavgifter

Marknadspotential med hundratals miljoner
Om alla svenska dagligvarubutiker anslöt sig till Ambidex plattform, skulle den totala marknaden uppgå till hundratals miljoner kronor årligen. Med liknande behov i Norden och Europa, och med ambitiösa nationella mål att sjufaldiga elnätets flexibilitet till 2050, är tillväxtmöjligheterna för Ambidex lösning omfattande.

Chalmers Ventures Invests in Impact Company Ambidex - Raises Over 5 Million SEK in New Round
Chalmers Ventures, together with Almi Invest, is making a follow-up investment in the impact company Ambidex, whose technology is based on research from Chalmers University of Technology. The company offers innovative solutions to stabilize the power grid by using existing cooling systems. The round raised over 5 million SEK. Now, the company is expanding and launching new products.
Power Grid Stability and Renewable Energy
Renewable energy sources like wind and solar power are weather-dependent and cause variations in electricity production. This places demands on flexible solutions that can balance the supply and demand for energy in the power grid. Ambidex's technology, which is based on over seven years of research from Chalmers University of Technology, offers a solution that uses existing cooling systems, such as those in grocery stores, to adjust the energy consumption of the cooling systems in real-time. This can then balance the load on the power grid without affecting the functionality of the cooling systems.
More Customers and Solution for Spot Prices and Grid Fees

With similar needs in the Nordic countries and Europe, and with ambitious national goals to increase the power grid's flexibility sevenfold by 2050, the growth opportunities for Ambidex's solution are extensive.
