UniTech Pharma Awarded Contract by a Global Pharmaceutical Company for the Manufacture of Products in Pre-filled Syringes

UniTech Pharma AB (UTP) will take over manufacture of a commercial product sold in pre-filled syringes on the Scandinavian market.  “The decision by a global pharmaceutical company to transfer manufacture of a product to UTP demonstrates the company’s attractiveness as a partner for contract manufacturing of commercial products ,” says Annette Elmqvist, CEO for UTP.

Several companies have visited the facilities in Matfors to discuss bioproduction, aseptic fill and finish contract manufacturing services.  “It looks very promising for the future of UTP and I expect to be soon able to announce the signing of additional contracts with new customers,” concludes Annette Elmqvist.

UTP recently invested in a state-of-the-art, flexible fill and finish facility that is approved by the Swedish Medical Products Agency and used for sterile production of medicines according to the most stringent European regulations.  In the new facility, medicines are filled in single-use syringes or injection vials while meeting rigorous sterility requirements in accordance with aseptic manufacturing procedures.

The new facility allows UTP to offer customers a full-service solution for pharmaceutical manufacture.  UTP has several international companies in its customer portfolio.
