Sally R first to enter the European Space Agency’s new incubator
For the next two years the Swedish startup-company Sally R will be a part of the European Space Agency’s new business incubator (ESA BIC Sweden). This gives the company access to ESA’s portfolio of intellectual property, technical support and € 50 000 for product development. Sally R is bringing down space technology to earth to save energy in buildings and guarantee a healthy indoor air climate.
Mankind faces a huge challenge when it comes to decreasing the global energy consumption. Our buildings are a large part of the problem as they consume a lot of energy.
“At Sally R we take advantage of proven space technology to save energy in buildings. By merging the climate control system used in space with the systems we currently use on earth, climate control is optimized and energy consumption is lowered”, says Viktor Kjellberg, CEO at Sally R.
“The technology that our solution is based on is the same technology that is used for climate control on the International Space Station”, says Fredrik Edström, CTO at Sally R.
At the moment the company is focusing on product development and are aiming to have a product ready for market during the second half of 2017.
“Gaining access to the intellectual property rights and technical expertise of ESA gives our product development a great boost”, continues Viktor Kjellberg.
The purpose of ESA BIC is to use space technology to create value and benefits on earth.
“Sally R is spot on for the incubator. They are bringing down space technology to create value on earth, while they have a good team and a solution with great potential”, says Michael Camitz, business developer at Uppsala Innovation Centre and an expert in ESA BIC Sweden’s Tender Evaluation Board.
Sally R is since June this year, also admitted to Create Business Incubator and receives business support and coaching to quickly establish itself and grow in the market.
