Findomestic Banca will enable its banking clients to track CO2 impact of everyday consumption

Doconomy further expand the abilities to educate and engage users for everyday climate action in Europe together with sustainability front runner Findomestic in Italy. The company, part of BNP Paribas provides families with credit, banking, savings and insurance products, created with responsibility and sustainability at the heart.

Since inception in 1984 Findomestic Banca has distinguished itself as a pioneer in the consumer credit sector through innovative services and strategies that have allowed it to be the market leader of today.

Now reinforcing the sustainability effort with CO2 calculations by Åland Index - that enables banks, payment providers and financial institutions to offer all customers transaction-based impact calculations - together with Doconomy, Findomestic takes yet a great step in guiding consumers in their everyday consumption towards more sustainable choices. This also builds on Findomestic’s existing ambition, collaborating with Treedom for reforestation in Italian regions, supporting the ecosystem of the planet.

“Findomestic is an innovative player that respond to the important needs of society today. They have people and planet’s best interest at core, and we are very proud to collaborate with their agile team to enable millions of clients to understand their impact and learn how to reduce it” says Mathias Wikström, CEO at Doconomy.

“Environmental sustainability is at the heart of our values and commitment. As Responsible Banking provider, we are always eager to implement solutions that can enable us and our stakeholders to act responsibly by contributing to the sustainable development of our planet. The partnership with Doconomy marks another important step towards achieving this ambitious goal: with the Åland Index we will offer our clients the possibility to monitor the environmental impact generated by their consumption in the belief that the first step towards change is awareness” says Gilles Zeitoun, General Manager at Findomestic Banca.

At a rapid pace there is an alliance of the willing amongst the world’s progressive banks in the making. Reaching from the U.S in the west to Finland in the east, from Sweden in the North, to Italy in the south. With the current COVID-crises in mind, people’s interest to know their impact on the planet and how to contribute to more resilient societies and a sustainable lifestyle at large has increased.
