International Paint. AkzoNobel supports DSM2025 as Silver Sponsor. What contributed to make this decision?

It is a privilege to support as a Silver Sponsor at DSM2025. DSM2023 was a great event and very well organized, therefore AkzoNobel took the decision to support as a Silver Sponsor. We also believe it is a very important event for the Shipping industry in Sweden. The fact that we have a factory and warehouse in Gothenburg makes it important to support DSM.

What makes DSM different from other exhibitions in your opinion?
That almost all of my customers are together at one event, at other exhibitions you only meet a couple of your customers. I also think the speed meeting part is a big advantage for all the exhibitors, a great opportunity to have deeper conversations with your customers, potential customers or suppliers. Moreover, the banquet dinner is also one of its kind, well organized dinner with a familiar feeling. The fact that DSM is located at beautiful Donsö also makes a big difference.

What is your best memory from DSM2023?
The best memories are all the connections that was created during DSM2023. This was the first time that I was attending as an exhibitor, the year before I was only there as a visitor. We made great connections during the exhibition which contributed to projects we are still working with.

What are your expectations for DSM2025?
I expect a lot of conversations with our customers and future customers about their challenges and how we can support. I also hope that we can track upcoming projects and be a strong partner from the beginning.

What do you find are the opportunities and challenges in the Shipping Industry today?
The shipping industry is facing a complex landscape of stricter regulations, cost pressures, and market uncertainties. Yet, these challenges drive us to continuously innovate our products and services. Above all, we are committed to leading the maritime industry’s sustainable transition. By actively shaping industry standards and practices through organizations like the IMO and addressing legislative requirements, we are helping to set the course for a more sustainable future in shipping.

The perfect event for people interested in the Shipping Industry.

And finally, do you prefer a sail or a motorboat for recreation, and why so?
Motorboat, I have always enjoyed the speed.
