Well, Jonas was pretty convincing, and we were impressed by the the Donsø island, and all the maritime activity.
The Swedish Club supports DSM19 as a Gold Sponsor. What contributed you to make this decision? It’s the most important shipping event in Sweden. The Swedish Maritime cluster is brought together in a joint effort to show its capabilities. The Swedish Club is highly engaged in the cluster and in particular with the shipping companies on Donsö and are a part of their endeavours.
The island of Donsö may well be the world’s most inclusive place for shipping. Despite its humble numbers with a population of less that 1500 people, Donsö shows a remarkable strength in leading the development of modern tanker business – of course with sustainable focus.

DSM19 will feature a Financing Meet on September 3, 2019, with focus on financing sustainable shipping with its related challenges and opportunities. We will present an interesting program, with several speakers followed by a panel discussion, closer to the event.

We are glad to introduce the theme for the DSM19 Commercial Meet – Surrounding World Analysis – Business Intelligence, Sustainability and Future Recruiting. Host for the Commercial Meet is Carl-Johan Hagman, head of Shipping & Ferries at Stena, starting the meet with an introduction speech. Carl-Johan Hagman is also moderator for the panel discussion.
We are very glad to announce that Tommy Körberg will return to Donsö and perform at the DSM19 Banquet dinner on September 3. In 2017 the ovations went on and on and we are pleased to welcome him back to the Banquet tent in the harbor, where 1 800 guests will enjoy his performance!
To encourage HR and Crewing personnel to be a part of Donsö Shipping Meet we introduced seminars intended for HR and Crewing Personnel at DSM17. For DSM19 there will be a seminar and a workshop lead by Anneli Hammarsten, Leadership coach and change leader, with 10 years experience of leadership and skills transfer.

In the beginning of September 2018 Donsö Shipping Meet was present at SMM in Hamburg, in the Swedish National Pavilion, together with nine other Swedish exhibitors. Three productive days with a lot of opportunities to network and get inspired. The Swedish Pavilion was a good environment to marketing DSM19, make new business connections and meeting both new and former exhibitors.

In 2011, the Donsö Foundation was created to make sure the money earned from Donsö Shipping Meet goes back to the island. The purpose of the foundation is to take responsibility for children, young adults and elderly in the future. The foundation supports projects based on Donsö.
