Ecoride opens e-bike store in Gdansk and launches a new business in Poland
Ecoride continues its growth journey and is now expanding its business from the Nordics to Poland. On Monday 15 May, the newly built store in Gdansk will open and offers a wide range of Ecoride's electric bikes and accessories to the Poles.
"We are very happy to open our first store in Poland," says Linda Schweitz, Commercial Manager at Ecoride. "The store is in Gdansk, which is like Gothenburg in terms of size, and together with the new retailers in Sopot and Gdynia, we will be able to reach a large population with similar needs and habits as the target group in the Nordic countries. The cycle paths are also fantastic from what I have seen," she continues.
Pawel Kowalcyk is the Country Manager in Poland and is responsible for setting up the store and the launch.
"It is going to be very exciting to launch Ecoride in Poland. I was previously production manager for the factory in Poland and know the high quality of the bikes. I am convinced that my fellow countrymen will see the same benefits of Ecoride's electric bikes as I do, we like Swedish solid quality."
According to a report by the Polish company BikeBoard, interest in e-bikes has increased in Poland in recent years. According to the report, around 90,000 e-bikes were sold in Poland in 2020, which was an increase of 52% compared to 2019. The largest market segments for e-bikes in Poland are commuting and leisure. Many Poles see e-bikes as a practical and cost-effective solution for commuting to and from work or getting around cities.
"The goal is to sell 300 bikes this year through stores, e-commerce and retailers," Pawel continues. "With current inflation in Poland and rising fuel prices, I want to offer a smart and simple product for the environment, your wallet and your health!"
Ecoride was founded in 2008 and is today a leading player in the Nordic region in the electric bike market. Since its inception, it has produced over 100,000 electric bikes. Ecoride's vision is to get as many people as possible to use the electric bike as a means of transport; to cycle through life and thus make everyday life easier and the planet more sustainable.
