EuroFlorist challenges all companies to copy their donation model to support Japan

EuroFlorist continues its successful donation model to support the Red Cross work in crisis areas around the world. The donation to the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan will be the third time EuroFlorist applies this model, following the earthquake in Haiti and floods in Pakistan.

And for the third time, EuroFlorist challenges all companies in the world to follow their model.

 -   We have had very positive feedback from our employees, who appreciate that they can contribute in an easy way. To match the employee contributions is a given for us as a company. If we can inspire other companies to follow our model, we could contribute to the biggest donation campaign in the world, says Lars Höglund, CEO of EuroFlorist Group.

The donation model is simple. By replying to an internal email with the word “Japan” in the subject line, employees agree to €10 being drawn from their next paycheck. If anyone wants to donate more, they simply state their personal amount in the email reply. EuroFlorist then matches the total sum donated by all employees, effectively doubling the donation to the Red Cross. The money goes directly to the Red Cross relief work in Japan.

The Red Cross is also very happy with the EuroFlorist donation model.

 -   The EuroFlorist donation model offers a fantastic incentive to all employees to contribute and together ensure that the total donation becomes more impactful. We are very grateful for all donations to the Red Cross relief work on site in Japan, says Andreas Jansson, Red Cross Head of Communication.
