Torbjörn Einarsson, video streaming expert, joins Eyevinn

Torbjörn Einarsson, expert on video streaming, and contributor to video streaming standardization efforts and open source, has just joined Eyevinn Technology. He will strengthen Eyevinn’s position as an industry driver and contributor to the open source community in video streaming.

Eyevinn Technology continues to invest in open source and their R&D initiatives to help push the industry forward by recruiting video streaming developers that share the passion and experience from working with open source.

Torbjörn Einarsson, has a strong background and network in the video streaming industry, is a passionate software developer and expert on video streaming with great standardization background and network. As participant in DASH-IF, ITU-T, and MPEG standardization he has contributed to the standardization of video codecs, and MPEG-DASH. He is the main author of the DASH-IF open source DASH Live Source Simulator (since 2014) and has provided the open source community with many other components and libraries. As part of Eyevinn’s team of video specialists, he will continue to contribute and participate in these areas with Eyevinn now being a member of DASH-IF.

Torbjörn holds extensive domain knowledge and experience in video codecs, file formats, streaming standards, and IP transport technologies. His experience from inventing and creating proof-of-concepts in many video areas will be an excellent addition to the ongoing R&D initiatives in the area of cloud production, interactivity in broadcast and sustainability. Torbjörn has also contributed to more than 35 patents in video-related areas including coding, transport and quality.
