Denmark wins FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ at Falsterbo Horse Show

Denmark delivered a true team performance to win the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ presented by Novare at Falsterbo Horse Show this Saturday. The Danish team topped the standings on 229.653, ahead of host nation Sweden on 212.609 and Germany on 211.000.

Led by Chef d'Équipe Susie Dannemand, the winning team consisted of Anna Zibrandtsen, Daniel Bachmann Andersen, Nadja Aaboe Sloth and Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour.

We are getting ready for the World Championships, and we just wanted to see how these four could do together. I'm super happy with the result we have achieved here today, said Susie Dannemand after the competition.

Denmark’s riders produced three of the top five individual scores on the day, but Olympic silver medallist Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour was undoubtedly the standout as she produced the highest individual score of the day together with her Mount St John Freestyle, earning 83.718% with an impressive test featuring numerous top marks.

– I was really, really pleased with [my horse] today, Laudrup-Dufour said.

– She’s mega-performed so many times, and it’s always a little bit tricky trying to optimize something that is really, really nice already. But of course, there are things that we are working on at home, and we’ve been trying to improve the feeling from the piaffe and how I’m coming in and out, and that’s probably the best thing about my ride today, that I really felt that I could improve something.

Denmark also claimed second place individually through Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Flash Gordon 37, who posted a personal best of 74.000% in only the horse's fourth FEI Grand Prix.

– This horse is very new. He’s in his first season at the International Grand Prix [level], and this was just his fourth FEI Grand Prix, so I’m extremely proud of him, Bachmann Andersen said.

– He is still a little bit shy in the ring, especially in the beginning of the test…I believe he has all the quality that is needed to become a top, top horse.

With the team's final counting score came from Nadja Aaboe Sloth and Favour Gersdorf at 71.935%, Denmark was the only nation to have all four riders score above 70 percent.

– I’m really happy with my teammates. Dressage is an individual sport, so to be able to create a team feeling, especially coming up on the [World Championships], I think it brings us a little bit closer, and already we’re working on the feeling that we want to present as a team in Germany. , Laudrup-Dufour said.

Germany secures the overall series title

Although Denmark celebrated the victory in Falsterbo, Germany claimed the overall 2026 FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ series title with 47 points, ahead of Belgium (29) and Sweden (24). The result marks Germany's fourth consecutive Nations Cup series victory.

Falsterbo Horse Show welcomed the return of five-star international dressage this year, with the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ making a successful comeback to the programme in front of an enthusiastic crowd on the Dressage Arena.
