Welcome to the Swedish C-390M Signing Ceremony
Sweden procures a new tactical air transport system based on the Embraer C-390M aircraft. The acquisition is being made as a joint procurement with the Netherlands and Austria, where the Netherlands is the leading nation towards industry. Sweden will acquire four C-390 aircraft.
Sweden has decided to join the existing Memorandum of Understanding. Concerning the C-390M Cooperation, together with the Netherlands and Austria. By signing this contract, Sweden will officially join the C-/KC-390 family.
The Swedish Armed Forces are now securing a long-term solution for the operational need for tactical air transport capability. The C390M with its capacity to transport 80 passengers or cargo of 26 tons in medium to long distances will be a welcome addition to a strong air fleet in the Swedish Air Force.
To celebrate this milestone, we invite the media to attend the signing ceremony on 6 October 2025 at the Arna Air Base in Uppsala, Sweden. Interviews will be facilitated as well as photo/film opportunity with the Embraer C-390.
NOTE! International media (and non-Swedish citizens) that want to visit a Swedish Armed Forces facility also need a “Request For Visit” and have to provide: full name, date of birth, passport number, nationality and company/agency. Deadline for
registration 1/10.
