gina tricot expands to iceland with physical stores

Gina Tricot, one of Sweden's leading fashion chains with 150 stores in four countries, is taking an exciting step into the Icelandic market by opening its first physical stores in Iceland. This marks Gina Tricot's first venture into franchise stores outside of Sweden, representing a significant move for the brand on the international stage. Previously, Gina Tricot had only operated e-commerce on the island.

"Together with our franchisees, we are very pleased to offer the Gina Tricot experience to our customers in Iceland with physical stores. We see great potential in the Icelandic market, and it is particularly satisfying to be able to offer Gina Tricot's products to Icelandic customers to a greater extent than before," says Ted Boman, CEO of Gina Tricot.

Albert Magnússon, the franchisee for Gina Tricot in Iceland, has extensive experience in clothing and retail, with 12 other stores in operation. The two stores will open two days apart in November in Kringlan, Reykjavik, and Glerártorg, Akureyri. The new store in Akureyri will be 325 square meters, while the store in Kringlan will be 280 square meters. The appearance of the stores is described as "ultramodern" and in line with Gina Tricot's concept store on Drottninggatan in Stockholm, with design elements reflecting the brand's Scandinavian origin, including bright colors, soft tones, and wood details.

Gina Tricot opens in Reykjavik on November 23rd and in Akureyri on November 25th.
