gina tricot’s sustainable collaboration with swedish allvar underwear

The fashion company, which previously had several popular collection collaborations, is now presenting this spring’s collaboration where sustainability and underwear are the main focus. In collaboration with Swedish underwear brand Allvar Underwear, Gina Tricot is now launching a limited underwear collection made using wood fiber from Swedish forests.

From wood fibers in Swedish forests, to soft and smooth underwear. The exclusive underwear has been produced from forest resources in Ångermanland. The forests are FSC and PEFC certified and classified as responsible forestry. The textile has been produced in Europe and the sewing has been carried out by a women’s entrepreneurial company called Textilfabriken in Borås. The entire value chain of the collection, from the forest as material to the sewing, has been local in order to reduce transport distances and benefit local women entrepreneurs.

”It’s great that we’ve developed a material that consists mostly of raw material from Swedish forests that have grown for a hundred years. It’s material that is sustainably manufactured, entirely within Europe. And we have done it at reasonable prices, with the sewing done in Sweden. In collaboration with Gina Tricot, we have combined the origins of the forest and the modernity of Gina Tricot with the gravity of Allvar. I think the whole concept is imbued with a reverence for the forest that now exists in the underwear items,” says Niklas Gilmark, Business Director at Allvar Underwear.

Keep nature close & keep underwear smooth. The limited underwear collection consists of a total of 14 products and in addition to soft tops and briefs, there are also tube dresses, bodies, biker shorts and tank tops. Many of the garments are available in two lovely colours.

The limited underwear collection by Gina Tricot and Allvar will be launched online at ginatricot.com on March 16 at 10 cet.
