The founders of Grandpa steps down from their operational roles to make room for the CEO and new team!

Stockholm, July 3, 2023

Grandpa announces that their two remaining founders, Jonas Pelz and Anders Johansson, steps down from their operational roles within the company. Grandpa was founded in Stockholm, 20 years ago, and this is seen as a natural next step in the company’s further development and journey.

With great entrepreneurial spirit and drive, the two founders have been a true fundament in building up and developing Grandpa to its unique and leading position in the market. Their decision to now step down from their operational roles is based on that they feel confident in handing over the business and its further development to the current management and team. In doing so, the ambition is to enable even more space and freedom in continuing building the company and brand.

“We are extremely proud over what Grandpa has become and what we have achieved over the past two decades, says Jonas Pelz. When we look ahead, we strongly feel that it is of upmost importance that we give our current management and team the right prerequisites to continue the development and open up for new ideas and perspectives, to take things even further”.

“That we still will focus on our roles in the company’s Bord of Directors, enables us to contribute on a strategical level as well as a smooth transition, Anders Johansson adds. We have full confidence for our current team and that they will continue developing Grandpa to new heights.”

Simultaneously, Grandpa has the great pleasure to introduce its new Finance Manager, Johan Larsson, who will join the company after the summer. Johan brings extent and solid experience from the retail industry and has, among other, previously acted as CEO for Whyred, Mini Rodini and CFO for Peak Performance and WeSC. His latest position was as CEO for Mackmyra Swedish Whisky. His proven expertise within finance and strategic management will be an integral part of Grandpas onwards journey.

Grandpa is like all other within the retail segment active on an ever-changing market but has despite the severe challenges been able to show a solid growth. During 2023 its e-commerce business has increased closer to 60 % where a large part of the growth can be derived from the fact that Grandpa for the first time has seriously started addressing the international market, which now stands for about a fifth of the online business. The company’s own brand, Grandpa Goods, is now the biggest brand in the portfolio and is also an important strategic focus point moving forward.
