Vogel awarded WELT 2012 MBA scholarship

The recipient of the WELT 2012 MBA scholarship is Lucas Vogel, Deputy Editor in Chief at Finanzen Verlag GmbH, Germany. The scholarship, worth SEK 465,000, is presented by the German newspaper WELT in collaboration with Stockholm School of Economics IFL Executive Education and kursfinder.de.

The purpose of the scholarship is to promote executive education and to enrich expertise among the next generation of leaders in Germany. The scholarship is awarded to a person who, through his or her position and future potential, will be aided in improving their leadership and expertise in business and organizational development for the benefit of their company/organization. Special emphasis is on the person’s potential for creating new business through entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship.

Lucas Vogel, Deputy Editor in Chief at Finanzen Verlag GmbH, is the jury’s choice to receive the 2012 MBA scholarship.

“In a changing and challenging media industry, Lucas Vogel works with an innovative mindset and strong entrepreneurial skills to bring Finanzen Verlag GmbH to new levels. With a diverse education and a non-traditional career path, Lucas Vogel has achieved a senior managerial position at a young age. He is a most worthy recipient of the scholarship, which will allow him to take the next step and contribute even more to his company.”

The jury consisted of Christoph Rüth, CEO of WELT; Dr. Anke-Sophie Meyer, Chief Editor of Karriere WELT; Mattias Säker, CEO of utbildning.se; Stephan Buskies, Deutsche Bahn Management Consulting and a graduate of the SSE MBA program; and Lars Strannegård, Vice President of Stockholm School of Economics and Dean of the SSE MBA.
