Hepatitis levels in Europe poorly known!

Viral hepatitis is a neglected epidemic in Europe. 14 million people live with chronic hepatitis B and an estimated 9 million people carry hepatitis C, but most are unaware of the infection. Because chronic hepatitis is left undetected and often untreated, it is a major cause of liver cirrhosis and primary liver cancer. Hepatitis is responsible for about 120 000 deaths per year in Europe.
