Emballator Innovation center strengthens the team with a Polymer Specialist

Emballator launched the plans for a new Innovation center for packaging solutions in May 2020. The Innovation center will be located in the facilities of the factory in Ljungby, Sweden. During 2021 the premises will be completed with new testing equipment and machines for different production techniques. One important part of the investment is getting the right competence and expertise, and that’s why Christian Olsson now is a part of the team.
– An Innovation center is a must in this industry, to be able in a good way, to create new solutions, new materials and help the customers to find the right way, says Christian Olsson.

With 20 years of experience within polymer techniques and chemistry Christian will contribute with knowledge that sets the agenda for the Innovation center.
– The focus is to find new solutions and new materials. I want to improve the products that already exists. A part of that is having a communication with the customers, what kind of problems they have and in which way they are heading. It’s crucial to be a part of the development and to find solutions for their packaging needs, says Christian.

Beyond his role as Material specialist Christian will also be responsible for Emballators Sustainability concept. The mission is to develop the sustainability concept within Emballator based on new sustainable material. The work includes external monitoring of both end-customer demands and new legislation, an assignment that’s important for the customers.
– I work with the behavior of polymers and that might be hard for people without deep knowledge to understand. I’m able to explain in a good way and in that way, I’m sharing the knowledge.

Mats Jeppsson, Innovation Manager, is happy to welcome Christian to the team.
– With this recruitment we are strengthening the competence within Emballator in polymers. This is also a step in the right direction in our ambition to develop new products that is not based on fossil material but renewable raw materials. From day one Christian has started to contribute with his knowledge within this area, says Mats.
