Historic achievement: Hernö Gin awarded World’s Best Gin & Tonic by IWSC. Twice.

The jury of the world’s most prestigious spirit competition, International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) is announcing that the IWSC Gin and Tonic Trophy 2020 goes to Hernö Old Tom Gin. This is the first time in the history that the competition is awarding the same distillery with this award twice. Last time Hernö Gin got it was in 2016. Today it’s happening again.

–I can hardly believe it. To receive this award once again… I’m overwhelmed, laughs Jon Hillgren, Founder and Master Distiller, Hernö Gin.

– The IWSC is for our industry what Oscar is for the film industry, so this is really huge, he adds.

The IWSC is the world’s largest and most influential international spirit awards company with more than fifty years experience of the industry. This year more than 800 gins have been judged by a judging panel made up of experts from a diverse range of sectors drawn from different countries.

Awarded with all the top awards a gin producer can receive in IWSC.
– Last time we got the IWSC Gin and Tonic Trophy was in 2016 with the combination of Hernö Dry Gin and Fevertree Indian Tonic. This time is was Hernö Old Tom Gin and Double Dutch Tonic. To say the least, and try to be as humble as possible, we are suuuuper proud, Jon says.

The last five years at the IWSC Hernö Gin has received the International Gin Producer Trophy (twice), Contemporary Gin Trophy, London Dry Gin Trophy and the Boutique Distiller of the Year. A bunch of Gold Outstanding and plain Golds. Actually all top awards a gin producer can receive. And the Swedish distillery have now gotten a couple of them twice.
