Open Data since 2010 - Swedish Success Factors and Lessons Learnt
Tue 11 June 2:30pm-3:30pm (T2)

Ulf Bjersing, CSO, Hogia Public Transport Systems, Stenungsund, Sweden

Open Data has been a trademark for public transport in the Nordic countries for more than a decade. Through the cross-industry initiative Trafiklab, Swedish PTAs have provided data as open APIs since 2010, allowing any user to develop smart services for tomorrow's passengers. What are important milestones in this history of collaboration, and how does open data benefit society? Open public transport data may be the foundation for future mobility solutions. But why is standardisation and data quality essential to make open data truly useful and dependable, and how do we navigate among the different data formats that are used today?
