Made in Sweden: IAMRUNBOX launches the first face mask designed for active people

As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Swedish brand IAMRUNBOX is introducing a solution that will help people from all over the world to keep active and safe. The RunMask will retail at SEK 349 (approximately USD 35) and will be available for pre-order at www.iamrunbox.com later this week.

Since the COVID-19 breakdown, the world has stopped and self-isolation remains the main preventive measure in most countries. Still, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), going outside for exercising while keeping a social distance is not only safe but also essential for physical and mental health.

In order to make it even safer for people to be outside, the Swedish brand IAMRUNBOX developed the RunMask, a face mask that is specially made for active people.

“Now, more than ever, we feel responsible for helping people to keep active and safe. As soon as COVID-19 hit we fast-tracked the production of a sustainable face mask made locally in Sweden. Now, we are about to share our solution with people here in Sweden and all over the world”, explains Kirill Noskov, Founder & CEO of IAMRUNBOX.

Aiming to support local producers and develop a high-quality product within a short timeline, IAMRUNBOX partnered with Malmö Industries for the production of the masks.

“The highest standard of quality and design. This is what Made in Sweden means. It also means attention to detail and transparency in every step, from the sourcing of sustainable materials to the well-being of the people working behind” says Ernesto Prosperi, CEO of Malmö Industries.

The RunMask is made from multi-layered fabrics that make it breathable, washable, and reusable, besides ensuring proper protection. In fact, as demonstrated by recent research, a combination of cotton with other materials can effectively filter aerosol particles that could transmit the COVID-19. Furthermore, the RunMask can be used as a cover placed over a medical-grade as it has a compartment that fits a KN95 filter inside. This enhances protection and prolongs the filter’s usable life. The design is ergonomic, size-adjustable, weather-resistant, and made for motion.

A lot of thought was also dedicated to style as face masks increasingly become a hint of self-expression amid the pandemic. According to Ernesto “Everything is handmade. There is a lot of technique and craftsmanship involved to make it the best quality possible”.
