More investments from China to Sweden
Invest in Sweden Agency, ISA will during the next days sign agreements with four large Chinese corporations, concerning future collaboration on investments in Sweden. The first agreement is signed today, Sunday the 28th of March in Gothenburg with the Chinese car manufacturer Geely.
Invest in Sweden Agency and Geely Holding Group will work together regarding investment opportunities in the Swedish automotive industry and within Swedish vehicle research and development. ISA has already worked with Geely for several years, for example with the current purchase of the Swedish car company Volvo and during discussions regarding a center for technology development in Sweden.
- The agreement between Invest in Sweden Agency and Geely is a token of their long-term commitment to Sweden and to the Swedish automotive industry. We look forward to assisting Geely in future investments in Sweden, in the car industry as well as in the development of vehicle technology, says Eddie Chen, Vice President of ISA in China, and signer of the agreement together with Mr. Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Holding Group.
The other three agreements to be signed on Monday are with Beijing Automotive Industry Holding, China Electronics Technology Group and China Development Bank Corporation. This will take place in connection with the largest ever Chinese business delegation visit to Sweden. The delegation is led by Mr. Xi Jinping, Vice President of the Peoples Republic of China. Top representative of Sweden is Maud Olofsson, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Minister for Enterprise and Energy. The signings will be part of the seminar Sweden - China Business Cooperation and Innovation Forum, arranged by Sweden-China Trade Council in cooperation with the Swedish Trade Council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Invest in Sweden Agency
