Press release -

Jessica Bäckman is ready for Sachsenring with a new car and new team

September 23-25th, ADAC TCR Germany and its participants take over the technical Sachsenring track in Germany. Jessica Bäckman will be on the starting grid with a completely new team and new car, the Sweden National Team driver will drive an Audi RS 3 LMS TCR gen 2 car for the Belgium team Comtoyou Racing.
- I’m looking forward to racing again, it will be exciting to try out an Audi and drive for the experienced team Comtoyou Racing for the first time, as well as learn a completely new track. It will be an exciting weekend, Jessica Bäckman says.

Sachsenring is a racing circuit located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal near Chemnitz in Saxony. The first race was held on May 26, 1927, and since 2007, Sachsenring is part of the regular ADAC GT Masters schedule. The MotoGP races at the Sachsenring meanwhile have also gained a legendary reputation with over 200,000 people making the visit to this event annually. Sachsenring track is known for its technical design with very twisty and blind corners with height differences like no other. This weekend, September 23–25th, the ADAC TCR Germany’s sixth round will be held at the historic Sachsenring track in Germany, and Jessica Bäckman is ready to race again.

- Sachsenring is known for being a technically advanced track, it will be challenging to get up to speed quickly as we only have two free practice sessions before qualifying starts on Friday. I'm looking forward to the weekend, Jessica Bäckman says.

New car and new team for Jessica
New for this race is that Jessica Bäckman will be on the starting grid with both a brand new car for her, an Audi RS 3 LMS TCR gen 2, and for her a new but very experienced team Comtoyou Racing. Jessica has competed in the first five rounds of the ADAC TCR Germany for the German team ROJA Motorsport but chose to go their separate ways after the Lausitzring race just over a month ago. Instead, the Sweden National Team driver is looking forward to trying new things for the two remaining races in the ADAC TCR Germany championship.

-After the Lausitzring round, we chose to go our separate ways with ROJA Motorsport. We have achieved great results together but now I am looking forward to new challenges. I’m very happy to announce that I will be driving for Comtoyou Racing for the remaining two race weekends in the series. It will be very exciting but at the same time a real challenge considering the limited preparations, but a challenge I’m looking forward to, Jessica Bäckman says.

– I’m happy to welcome Jessica into our team. Since few years back we were fighting each other in TCR Europe, and she was always a difficult one to beat. It’s never easy to jump into a championship during the year but I am sure with her speed and our knowledge of the Audi RS3 LMS TCR gen 2 we have a competitive line up. Looking forward to this weekend, Francois Verbist says, Team Manager at Comtoyou Racing.
