3 x MFA exhibitions at Konstfack. On affection, identities and magic poetry by Giulia Cairone, Alejandro Montero Bravo and Fernando Caceres Jara

Con afetto by Giulia Cairone

Identities in disorder by Alejandro Montero Bravo
The Latin, The Sexual and The Feminin. I’ve come to realize that they are of the utter most importance for me to express, its through the practice of art that I’m fully comfortable to express those identities and let my personality grow and be proud of what I am without any inhibitions. I critcise the existing preconceptions of beauty and taste, seeing and growing up with a lack of diversity of expressions, social conduct and especially while western ideals are depreciating immigrant or feminine tastes its important for me to counteract this silencing by working big and bold.

Gilgamesh and Enkidu; beyond death and Magic trees – two books by Fernando Caceres Jara, both a collection of conversational narratives and paintings
The renowned author and scholar Dr. Marietje Kardaun's comments about Gilgamesh and Enkidu: “It has frequently been remarked that poetry cannot be translated. While this may generally hold true, I would like to claim an exception for the present book. The art works in this edition have managed to grasp – and to convey seemingly without effort – the essence of the Gilgamesh epic as if there were not thousands of years to bridge. Thus they bring one of the most important and beautiful narratives of mankind within reach of a wider public than just the small circle of scholarly researchers. The art works are supported by a concise, poetic summary of the highlights of the epic. The text too does justice to the content and the atmosphere of this beautiful ancient heroic myth. Who could ask for more?”
