Body Double – Reflekterande smycken/Reflecting jewellery

Med utgångspunkt i utställningen Hyper Human på Tekniska museet i Stockholm presenterar tio studenter från Konstfacks kandidatprogram Smycke och Corpus: Ädellab utställningen Body Double.

Med inspiration från Hyper Humans teman som genredigering, övervakning, artificiell intelligens, åldrande och död undersöks var kroppen börjar och slutar i en digital samtid samt hur gränsen mellan människa och maskin kan omförhandlas.

Genom experimentella metoder och personliga uttryck bjuder verken i Body Double in till att se smycken som mer än utsmyckning och fysiska förlängningar av kroppen. Istället föreslås de som verktyg för att reflektera över både vår samtid och möjliga framtider.

Welcome to the jewellery exhibition Body Double at the National Museum of Science and Technology until December 2026.
Inspired by the exhibition Hyper Human at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, ten Bachelor’s students from the Jewellery and Corpus: Ädellab programme at Konstfack present the exhibition Body Double on the body, technology, and identity.

Drawing on themes from Hyper Human such as gene editing, surveillance, artificial intelligence, ageing, and death, the works explore where the body begins and ends in a digital present and how the boundary between human and machine can be renegotiated.

Through experimental methods and personal expressions, the works in Body Double invite viewers to see jewellery as more than adornment or physical extensions of the body. Instead, they are proposed as tools for reflecting on both our present and possible futures.
