Exploring vanity, painting, and evidence in three BFA practices

Welcome to a BFA exhibition featuring Sanna Svensson, Constance Michnik, and Theodor Hallgren combining sculpture, video, text, and painting.

Vernissage in Vita Havet Thursday 21 November, 17–20
The exhibition is open 22–29 November, 12–18

Sanna Svensson
works with endless association as a method, searching for the “evidence” of images and events. The work in this exhibition is affected by her exchange semester in Oregon, USA.

Theodor Hallgren explores painting as its own object. The work includes altering the shape of the canvas – reflecting the shapes of the frame and the paint against each other. He is interested in the meeting between material, layering of paint and brushwork.

Constance Michnik is interested in themes of vanity and the construction of the self image. She works with a direct approach to the material and explores other perspectives on every-day objects. The color red is essential; meaning violence, love, flesh and power.
