Konstfack students create Ebola clinic simulation

Konstfack students create Ebola clinic simulation for training of medical and non-medical staff going to the regions most affected by Ebola.

Due to the emergency situation, the Centre for Research on Health Care in Disasters at Karolinska Institutet, along with the Public Health Agency of Sweden has organised a two day course aimed at medical staff who intend to work in the areas affected.

Under the lead of Jenny Althoff (Industrial Design at Konstfack) and Sergio Brava (Interior Architecture at Konstfack) Konstfack students have developed a full size scale Ebola clinic training center, simulating the conditions in West Africa (Sierra Leone, Libera and Guinea). This Sunday the training centre was completed and on Thursday the first group of medical - and logistics staff goes to the West African regions.

The project will continue with further feedback from the nurses and doctors engaged in the training sessions.

For more info, contact Jenny Althoff, jenny.althoff@konstfack.se.
