Transitory Encounters in Erik Viklund's MFA Exhibition

Welcome to MFA student Erik Viklund's degree exhibition Eftervärld (Posterity)

OPENING Thursday 18 February 4 to 8 pm at Galleri Konstfack I 

Erik Viklund's work is inspired by places and encounters with people and their destinies in these locations. Utilizing photography, he is interested in approaching the transient, but also how the transient is expressed in our lives in a purely physical way from one place to another; on a found piece of paper, a broken window or the torn down wallpaper in a house that has been deserted.

By investing time into his stories and projects, Erik Viklund slowly writes himself into a larger history writing where existential layers are found as annual rings in a tree.

Eftervärld is a further elaboration of the place focused in his book Vännernas arena (2020). The exhibition consists of works in glass, photography, plywood and video.

The exhibition is open 18–27 February, Monday closed, Tuesday–Friday 12 to 4 pm, Saturday–Sunday 12 to 3 pm.

Due to covid a maximum of 8 people is allowed in the gallery at the same time.
