Welcome to three MFA exhibitions opening on 15 February!

Takes place in Vita havet and at Galleri Konstfack!

Artists Josefina Anjou and Jordana Loeb present their solo MFA exhibitions together, introducing Anjou's new series of large horizontal paintings and Loeb's wooden sculptural and sonic installations. The title Carbon-14 Dating defines the method for determining the age of any organic material, or rather deciphering for how long anything that was once alive has been dead.

Josefina Anjou
(b. 1993, SE) is foremost a painter whose work as a rule extend the limits of the canvas into its surrounding architecture. She graduated with a BFA from Gerrit Rietveldt Academie, Amsterdam, in 2019 and is now studying for her MFA at Konstfack, Stockholm. Anjou has exhibited in duo and solo shows at Galerie Fons Welters and Bologna CC in Amsterdam and in group shows for example at Kunstverein (Amsterdam), Intersticio (Madrid), Andy’s Gallery (Stockholm) as well as in a vast number of artist organized group shows.

Jordana Loeb
(b. 1987, US) is an artist residing and working in Stockholm since 2012. Loeb activates natural materials; wood, stone and metal, through movement, performance and sound. Loeb is currently attending the Master of Fine Arts program at Konstfack (2024) and received her BFA with a focus in printmaking from Syracuse University, School of Visual and Performing arts in New York (2009). Loeb has recently exhibited at Konstnärhuset (2021), Galleri Duerr (2022), Silvermuseet in Arjeplog (2023) and performed at Fylkingen in Stockholm (2023)

Heidi Edström (b. 1990, SE) is a performance and installation artist who's works revolves around the an ongoing investigation of The Knöl; a shapeless concept that approaches thoughts and beliefs around the uncertain border between health and sickness, order and disorder, the expected and unexpected. Edström graduated with a BFA from Konstfack (2022) and are currently studying for a MFA at the same school. She has recently performed in connection with Accelerator, Fylkingen, Kummelholmen and Supermarket, and exhibited at Detroit Stockholm, Vålmen, Konstfrämjande Värmland, Arbetarrörelsens Arkiv and Flat Octopus. Edström is also active in various artist driven initiativs and groups such as Best Before Collective, Fylkingen and Kulturprofilerna.
