Material memories, future spaces, talks and glimpses of processes during Stockholm Design Week, 5–11 February

STEP INTO OUR STUDIO at Konstfack and get a glimpse of the processes behind the designs, between pixels and prototypes, where we research and explore, risk and fail, get stuck and progress. Industrial, graphic, interior/furniture design students at Konstfack invite you to enter the diverse worlds of our work in a huge cross-disciplinary exhibition. Vernissage 5 February, 17–20.

When in our studio, welcome on 6 February, 14–16, to WHAT IF, a design event about exploring the uncertain and unknown, taking risks, daring to fail, and daring to succeed. We invite you to take part of dialogues, talks and exhibitions where you’ll meet designers sharing experiences about the creative process. Check out the programme!

CONVERSATIONS at Sergels Torg where 27 students from the Textile and Industrial Design programmes at Konstfack will showcase the exhibition Conversations tgether with the onsite collaboration project På/At Sergels torg/square. The exhibition is a result of the workshop A Space in a Space, where the students worked with textile and construction engineering challenges to explore what a space in a space of the future could be. REINVENTIONS at Stockholm Furniture Fair, stand C06:34 – Unpacking material memories through design methods. The third-year students from the Interior Architecture and Furniture Design programme, have explored and researched the former industrial site Henriksberg in Stockholm. Material culture, form language, construction technology, societal expectations, organization model, and function were first examined and then how design processes can consider life-affirming perspectives and experimental approaches to preservation.
