Jessica Hemmings is revisiting a number of personal interests that have gained increasing importance to her own thinking in recent years: academic silence surrounding failure; the value of solitary thinking in the midst of our current collaborative era; and a newfound enthusiasm she has for the importance of small research claims.
Gatz's project is about creating a new aesthetic language that incorporates large data sets relating to humans, animals and plants, where he blends digital and analogue design processes. lambert, using the language of jewellery, unpacks the potential of different forms of history that are buried in what already exists.
The exhibition Renegotiating Material Culture is the result of a year long partnership between the Ethnographic Museum and Research Lab at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. The collaboration saw the students select works in the museum collections from Africa and the African diaspora which connected with their practices and helped inform and inspire the new works in the exhibition.
When the distinctions between the origin of the material, the practice of making and a completed materialization become blurred, the place, material, body and action come together.

This year, the Degree Exhibition is curated by Emily Fahlén and Asrin Haidari whose method is to dig where they stand and, through dialogue with the surrounding context, understand the site's specific relationships, historical connections, conflicts and opportunities.

This confirms Konstfack’s leading position in the field of Craft and includes both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Ceramics and Glass and Ädellab/Jewellery and Corpus.
