Konsthantverk vid Östermalms torg
The exhibition kh+ is brought to you by Konsthantverkarna Stockholm and Robert Kretzer, Design manager. Robert lives in Germany and Sweden and developed the concept for kh+ because he wanted to share his passion for konsthantverk, art and design with the Stockholm people.
Konsthantverkarna is Scandinavia’s largest craft collective and has been celebrating 60 years of operation. Past and present members of Konsthantverkarna are the who’s who of contemporary Swedish craft, whose work had a massive influence on todays Scandinavian design.
Konsthantverk has always been the foundation of art and modern design, but within these last 60 years the meaning of ”konsthantverk” has gradually changed and evolved to a point, where the border between these genres is disappearing again.
We will bring Konsthantverkarna back to its roots at Birger Jarlsgatan andbuild a bridge from where it all began to where ”konsthantverk” stands today. Selected renowned designers of Konsthantverkarna and design icons from today will exhibit their work to show the vast diversity and influence of konsthantverk.
The use of the latest modern technology helps us to push the boundaries even further by creating an exciting mixture of tradition and technology. Information about the showcase and its designers will be available through a website and an application, that will enable pass-byers to scan the OCR code at the window and receive information straight onto their smart phones.
The exhibition will take place from April 19-29 in the passage way to below Birger Jarlsgatan at Östermalmstorg Subway Station.
