RE-USING PRODUCTION WASTE
Swedish brand Monokel Eyewear continue taking steps toward the goal of using only sustainable materials. Introducing the Recycled Black Collection to their range of handcrafted sunglasses, every black frame offered is now made from recycled acetate bits that are collected from the brands' own production.
"When making handcrafted acetate frames, more than half of the acetate is normally thrown away. We collect and save all cut away pieces and mix it with a little bit of black ink to make new frames" - Robert Sandgren, Co-Founder and Creative Director.
The Recycled Black collection currently represent more than half of Monokel Eyewears' total production volume.
