Natlink acquires Heartrunner to expand emergency response capabilities
Natlink today announced it has acquired Heartrunner, an emergency response technology company with a reach of 14 million Nordic citizens and with direct integration to emergency services. The acquisition will combine Natlink’s strengths in geopositioning and long expertise in developing scalable reliable real time systems operating in poor network areas with Heartrunner’s proven emergency-response workflows. Together they will create a stronger foundation for new mission-critical services across rescue coordination, public safety, and incident response regardless of where it happens.
Natlink’s positioning services are already used informally in a range of field coordination scenarios including missing people cases, mountain rescue, and broader on-the-ground collaboration where speed, precision and shared situational awareness is critical. By adding Heartrunner’s experience working with emergency services, Natlink aims to move from informal utility to directly integrated, operationally reliable tools that can be deployed in partnership with public-sector stakeholders.
“This acquisition accelerates one of our missions to unite outdoor communities with the infrastructure that keeps people safe,” said Carl von Eckermann, CEO of Natlink. “Natlink’s geopositioning capabilities have always made coordination easier and more reliable in complex environments. With Heartrunner, we add direct integration to the emergency services and a strong public-sector footprint - enabling new use cases in the moments when every second counts.”
Heartrunner will be operating as stand-alone part of the Natlink Group, with a shared focus on building interoperable solutions that connect citizens, responders, and organisations through trusted location intelligence and split-second updates.
“Heartrunner was built with the vision to save lives and make everyone safer by connecting communities and enable fast responses in time critical emergencies.” says Frida Lewné, CEO of Heartrunner. “By joining Natlink, we gain scale, community reach, and best-in-class geopositioning technology. Together, we can modernise coordination across a wider range of incidents, from local emergencies to large-area field operations.”
The acquisition is effective immediately. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
