Swedish road surface condition data leader joins forces with V2X digital alerting pioneer to address weather-related road safety concerns.

The collaboration brings together NIRA's proven expertise in detecting road surface conditions, including slipperiness, hydroplaning, and friction levels, with HAAS Alert's industry-leading digital alerting platform that already serves millions of connected vehicles from Stellantis (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo), Škoda, Fleetworthy, and Kodiak.

Enhanced Safety Through Data Integration

Through this partnership, HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud Alert, Assist, and Drive products will incorporate NIRA's Road Surface Alerts (RSA) and road surface data layer, providing drivers and driving systems with a complete picture of road safety. While Safety Cloud delivers real-time notifications about emergency vehicles, work zones, disabled vehicles, and other roadway hazards, NIRA's RSA adds critical environmental intelligence including:

• Real-time road friction and slipperiness warnings
• Adverse weather-related road condition alerts
• Surface hazard detection from millions of connected vehicles
• Localized grip and traction information

The integrated solution leverages NIRA's software-based data collection approach that utilizes existing vehicle sensors to detect minute changes in road surface conditions, processing data from millions of connected vehicles. NIRA’s data is combined with HAAS Alert's real-time incident and emergency vehicle location information, creating alerts that are delivered directly to vehicle infotainment systems, navigation displays, and mobile applications.
