Concordia Bus changes its name to Nobina

Concordia Bus Group, the largest public transport Group in the Nordic region, is as of December 1 2009 changing its name to Nobina. The Swedish subsidiary Swebus AB will as well change its name and will be named Nobina Sweden AB. The long haul business, performed in Swebus Express AB, will however continue to use the Swebus-name due to its well-embedded brand among its customers.

• - A name change can never be cosmetic only. Nobina has its origins in the Latin word Nobis which means "us", which fits in very well with our vision, "Everyone wants to travel with us". Now the time is right to take the next step toward a uniform profile across the Nordic region. We have revised our shared values with a clear customer-orientation, at the same time as we have improved profitability and increased market share in existing markets and entered new markets, says Ragnar Norbäck, CEO at Concordia Bus.

In connection with the change of name we launch a new graphic identity in all the Nordic entities. Officially the change of name will have effect from December 1 and we will start the change of graphic identity successive from than.

• - Historically there have been several brands in the Group, where Swebus and Concordia Bus has been the most apparent. Both names causes a few mix-ups; Swebus who are operating CPTA contracts in over 100 places in Sweden, is mixed up with Swebus Express. In addition the shipping company Concordia Maritime is sometimes confused with Concordia Bus. A change of name and identity will give us a uniform profile across the whole Nordic region and the opportunity to channel all our efforts into one strong brand, says Sjur Brenden, Marketing Director at Concordia Bus.
