JIM OUMA releases single ”I Need Money” with LAUREN and Marley Waters

JIM OUMA, the eclectic duo consisting of producers Astma and Rocwell, are back with single “I Need Money” - a collab with Norway’s rising R&B queen LAUREN and American multi-instrumentalist and talent Marley Waters.

The tropical dancehall banger was born out of a phone call JIM OUMA had with a Jamaican musician they’d been working with. The duo wanted to offer him royalties, according to industry standards, but he kindly declined the offer and said he wanted cash - that conversation became the sample used in the song. It’s a transparent and real situation within the music industry where profit is not guaranteed, thus making cash up-front the more sure alternative.

”I Need Money” has JIM OUMA’s characteristic sound with influences from hiphop and the Caribbean. The song also features artists LAUREN and Marley Waters. 

Under the alias Astma and Rocwell, JIM OUMA have made songs for artists such as Tove Lo, Madonna and Maroon 5, among others. They’re also known for their internationally successful band NONONO, that reached the American Top 40 Charts with their hit single “Pumpin’ Blood”.

They made their debut in 2020 and have, since then, collaborated with acts such as KIDDO, Zikai, Mapei, Alicai Harley, JB Scofield and most recently, with international superstar Sia on their remix for ”Floating Through Space” feat. David Guetta. The duo themselves say that “JIM OUMA is about creative freedom and is a project solely run by their gut feeling.”
