Gerald Pötzsch from Philips delivers keynote at Dagens Industri Innovation Conference in Stockholm
Gerald Pötzsch speaks about the medical technology industry as a co-innovator and partner in innovations in healthcare
Stockholm, Sweden – Gerald Pötzsch, Philips Healthcare, is special invited as keynote speaker at the Dagens Industri conference “Di Innovation” held today in Stockholm, Sweden.
Innovation is central to a successful business. Di Innovation program highlights the practical aspects of the innovation process, the best way to prioritize between different projects and create processes that shorten the path from idea to profitable product.
In the program section “Open Innovation in Healthcare R&D”, Dr. Pötzsch will argue that Open Innovation partnerships between the industry and (clinical) science increase the speed, efficiency and outcome of R&D. For example, recently agreed partnerships with the University Hospitals in Lund (Sweden) and in Hvidovre (Denmark) will see the installation of state of the art 7Tesla MRI scanners which will be part of a vibrant network of clinical science sites, enabling groundbreaking research on e.g. Alzheimer’s and MS. So despite our foundation, we need to build a more outward looking mindset to accelerate innovation
He will also speak about the right regulatory and implementation environment around innovations, and how procurement policies can support innovation by focusing on outcomes and performance instead of product specifications. Furthermore he will describe how looking beyond product specification also can greatly benefit the clinical practice.
