Are you developing or testing Li-ion, Ni-MH or Electrochemical cells?

Yes? then the N4L PSM3750 + BATT470m Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy analysis solution can provide you with in-depth impedance data and Randles Cell equivalent circuit analysis.

What is Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy?

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (also known as ‘EIS’) is the field of analysis in which the wideband impedance characteristics of an electrochemical cell are determined, from this data engineers can characterise the composition and electrical behaviour of a cell.

How is the impedance of my cell measured?

The device under test is subjected to a small AC ripple current at discrete frequency steps dictated by the engineer. The current passing through, as well as the voltage across the cell is then analysed using a discrete Fourier transform within the PSM3750. Once the DFT is performed the impedance of the cell can be determined using vector mathematics. In phase and quadrature data enable the instrument to plot a Nyquist graph and thus determine the equivalent circuit representation for system modelling purposes.

Record your results within our software program PSMComm2

You can save the measured data into our PSMComm2 software, this presents the data as a Nyquist plot and provides randles cell equivalent circuit modelling functionality.
