Humanium Metal by IM and Monaco Better World Forum form a partnership for Peace

Monaco Better World Forum 2018’s Awards are made out of Humanium Metal, created in partnership with the NGO IM Swedish Development Partner. The alliance between MBWF and Humanium Metal by IM promotes peace and sustainable development through the metal that fights the spread of firearms around the world.

Armed violence is a global epidemic that hits developing countries especially hard. To tackle this problem, the NGO IM Swedish Development Partner has launched Humanium Metal – a new material made of recycled metal from gun destruction programs. The initiative supports weapon destruction programs in affected regions, thereby generating financial and moral support to those directly affected by the armed violence. The initiative has already increased the socio-economic and political security for people living in the initially targeted countries, and its implications for sustainable development are far-reaching.

Monaco Better World Forum under the High Patronage of H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco, whose motto is Cinematic Art at the Service of Humanity, was founded by Manuel Collas de La Roche. The 3rd edition of this major philanthropic event dedicated to art and cultural diversity will take place on September 21st & 22nd, 2018. Humanium Metal will be used to create the awards of the MBWF whose symbol is a dove of peace. The prestigious prizes are awarded to outstanding performances in seven categories including among others “Child Protection”, “Environment” and “Women’s Rights”.

This partnership was initiated by Karolina Bomba, MBWF’s Artistic Director, who believes that a better world and a return to global peace are only possible without the use of weapons. Peter Brune, Senior Policy Advisor Humanium Metal, and Ann Svensén, Secretary General of IM Swedish Development Partner, will be giving a presentation on Humanium Metal – considered as being the world’s “most valuable metal” – during the event in Monaco.

“Getting guns off the streets is crucial to creating peaceful and sustainable societies. Every gun melted and turned into Humanium Metal is one gun less on the streets”.
Ann Svensén, Secretary General of IM Swedish Development Partner.

“We need to unite, get out of the silence, build bridges and create synergies, not to revolt but to restore a proper balance, to guide and inspire future generations to engage for a Better World… so that peace gains the spirits, the hearts, and ultimately guides the world.”
Manuel Collas de La Roche, Founder and President of Monaco Better World Forum
