Irootfor to support the next generation of esports professionals

Swedish esport company Irootfor is becoming a sponsor of the country’s latest esports training programme. We will be launching our new product Florpad at the end of October, but before that we have decided to support esports training in central Sweden.

Head of the course at Sommenbygdens’ school Jesper Eriksson said: “We are delighted that Irootfor wants to help us. From the beginning the company received us generously, and it has become clear that we are dealing with people with vision who wants to benefit esports in Scandinavia and across Europe.”

The course has been running for a month, but participants are already feeling the benefit. They have come from across Sweden, and today live together in Tranås. Already great players, the focus is on teamwork and communication both in theory and in practice. Lessons are spent at the computer, but also focus on stress management, diet, and exercise.

Today the course’s two main subjects are Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and League of Legends. Over two terms the participants learn every from ethics and psychology to the mechanics of games and post-match analysis. Other elements such as events management and how to be a successful IGL (in-game leader) are also weaved into the training.

Sponsorship is currently locally sourced, and Irootfor will become the first national sponsor.

“The competition for space has been strong and we hope to continue developing. Therefore support from international businesses such as Irootfor is important, and we hope many more will come on board,” Jesper Eriksson said.

Irootfor CEO Robert Hjelmér said: “It was as natural for us to support this esport course as it would be to support a football or handball course. Irootfor will provide products from Florpad, and expertise on the esports market. We are overjoyed to be approached by Sommerbygdens esport course which has proven a professional outfit.”
