Nice Drama appoints new CEO

NENT Studios, part of Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), has appointed Alexander Tanno as CEO of scripted drama production company Nice Drama.

Alexander joins Nice Drama from a position as Head of Content Strategy and International Co-Productions at NENT Group’s streaming service Viaplay. Alexander will begin his new role on 1 October and takes over as CEO from Mikael Wallen, who will continue working with content development in a new role at NENT Studios reporting to CEO Morten Mogensen.

Nice Drama has produced award winning, high quality drama series such as ‘Midnight Sun’ (‘Midnattssol’), which won the Audience Award at Series Mania 2016, three categories at Roma Fiction Fest 2016, and Best International Drama at Content London 2017, as well being nominated for the Golden Nymph Awards 2017.

Nice Drama’s “The 100 year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared” became one of Sweden’s most watched film of all time when it premiered in 2013, and received an Academy Awards nomination for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Other productions from Nice Drama include acclaimed ‘Thicker than Water’ (‘Tjockare än vatten’); NENT Group’s original features and series ‘Superswede and ‘Hassel’; and the film ‘Alone in Space’, which premieres in Sweden on 21 September.
